DeLanzer Huggy Ford is currently the Director of LA Dance Magic National Dance Convention and Competition, which tours nationally to 17 cities per year with a faculty of 8 master teachers including: Jackie Sleight, Dave Carter, Christian Vincent, Leona Morimune, Artem Chigvintsev, and DJ Guthrie. This dance convention reaches over 10,000 kids per year.

Huggy has also been a member of the faculty for the Joe Tremaine National Dance Convention and Competition which included Joe Tremaine, Jackie Sleight, Doug Caldwell, Terry Lindholm, Marcia Lane, Desiree Robinson, and Tony Capolla. He was the Artistic Director of LA Underground National Dance Convention, which included the following faculty: Shane Sparks, Pamela Bolling, Daniel Catanach, Rod Howell and Patty Wilcox. He has also been a master teacher for Showstoppers and Starlight National Dance Competitions.

Huggy exemplifies balance with his well-rounded and broad training in theater, television/video, film, and commercials. His long list of credits includes: The Wiz national tour, My One and Only national tour with Tommy Tune, West Side Story national tour, 42nd Street on Broadway, Shades World Tour, Dianna Ross World Tour, Broadway at the Bowl with Bette Midler, Tommy Tune at the Hollywood Bowl, The Drew Carey Show, Cybil, eSalon, ISO, Ban De Terre, Sally’s, Pepsi, Pillsbury, Alpha Beta, Food 4 Less, Zone Bar, Ford, Toyota, Luis Miguel video, El Commandante video and world tour, Luther Vandros tour, M.C. Hammer live show at the Myan, guest choreographer for Minnesota Timberwolves, and choreographer and fitness trainer for USC football team with coach John Robinson.

Laurie Weiner LAURIE WEINER
Owner / Director / Choreographer

Laurie Weiner has been dancing since age 7. She has studied with teachers such as DeLanzer Huggy Ford, Elizabeth Huebner, Shane Sparks, Daniel Catanach, Pamela Bolling, Rod Howell, and Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky. Laurie was recently the assistant choreographer for Runway MMC, the recording group and also helped with the release of their fashion line for Wet Seal and Macy's. Laurie was recently a judge at the LA Dance Magic Nationals where she also assisted Jackie Sleight and Dave Carter.

Laurie has had the pleasure of being the assistant director of the national tour of LA Underground and demonstrating Huggy’s jazz choreography and Daniel Catanach’s ballet choreography on LA Underground’s videos.One of her favorite performances was for the television pilot “Flaunt Live!” She was a feature model in multiple Aasics catalogs and for Discount Dance Supply. Laurie performed and was the assistant choreographer for a CHOC fundraiser at 7 degrees in Laguna Beach. She has performed in many industrial shows including Paul Mitchell, Sony Records, Edelman, Pharmacia and more. Laurie was also featured in the video “Funkadelic Hip Hop” video.

Laurie has traveled to New Mexico to assist master classes with Huggy Ford, Alonso King, and Fletcher Nickerson. She has worked with Rogaine and Dr. Marty Sawaya in New York and Long Beach at the International Hair & Beauty Expo. Laurie has also assisted Huggy Ford in master classes in San Diego and at UCI. Laurie Weiner obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Cal State Fullerton.

Aaron Chavarria AARON CHAVARRIA
Teacher / Choreographer

Aaron began his training at the age of 11. He has trained in many studios throughout Southern California in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical and tumbling, with such teachers as Cory Finn, Gregg Russell, Mike Minery, Mark Goodman, Brad Mccaskall, Cindy Ricalde, Teri Bast, Joe Malone, Jackie Sleight, Dave Carter, Joelle Martinec, Keri LaGrand, Desiree Robbins, Mark Meismer, Joe Tremaine, and Doug Caldwell. In addition to dance, Aaron has performed in many musicals throughout California such as Grease, The Music Man, Oliver, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cabaret, The Sound of Music, and many others. He also is an assistant teacher at NUVO dance conventions and La Dance Magic. Aaron has choreographed national award winning routines for studios in California and South Carolina, and is proud to be working with the students at HBP.

Leona Morimune LEONA MORIMUNE
Teacher / Choreographer

Leo Morimune joins the team at HBP Dance Extreme as a faculty member of LA Dance Magic National Convention & Competition. He is currently assisting Justin Giles with the company SoulEscape and collaborating with artists across the country. Leo has danced along Nick Lazzarini, Melody Lacayanga, Mandy Moore, Nick Bass, Joe Tarwater, and Justin Giles to name a few.

Leo’s unique style is a result of extensive training. He began at age 8 on a full scholarship with the San Francisco Ballet and continued for 8 years. Leo studied ballet, jazz, modern, blue, afro Haitian, and choreography under the direction of Elvia Marta at the School of the Arts. He has also trained along Nick Lazzarini and Melody Lacayanga at the Dance Company of San Francisco, under the direction of Chris Jacobsen, where he studied contemporary, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, and jazz. Leo studied backup dancing at Push entertainment under the direction of Denise Lee.

Leo danced in the San Francisco Ballet Nutcracker from 1994-2001. In 1994, he was also a dancer in Ruslan with the San Francisco Opera. Leo was the choreographer and danced for Carlos Santana at the Fillmoore from 2000-2001. He was also choreographer and dancer for MGM Grand with Jackie Chan. He performed in “Glass Case” in 2002 under the director Dee Caspary. “Bomb Concert” with Fifty Cent and Fabulous was his next endeavor as choreographer/dancer in 2003. Leo has also been dancing with “SoulEscape” since 2004 under the direction of Justin Giles.

PAUL BRYANT
Musical Theater/Voice/Acting
(Director/Choreographer) received great acclaim for Hammerstein’s KING & I, his direction and creation of a full length ballet in upstate New York production of Learner & Lowe’s GIGI. Mr. Bryant has directed and Choreographed shows and concerts for many of Southern California theaters and concerts halls. He has an extensive resume including projects such as: Smokey Joe’s café starring Jennifer Holiday (original Effie of Dream Girls) and his favorite Broadway Performer Stephanie J. Block (Wicked, The Pirate Queen), Ain’t Misbehavin, Sweet charity, Purlie, Hello Dolly, pajama game, Raisin, and the National Tour of Ragtime. During his time with this production he lead the company as a Harlem Ensemble member/dance captain. After four and a half years on the road with Ragtime, Paul went on to have the pleasure of directing and choreographing eight productions of the show throughout the United States and one concert version in Europe. As a performer he has proudly entertained former President Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, the Prince and Princess of Sri Lanka, and Imelda Marcos and family. Paul recently returned from an 8 month engagement at Tokyo Sea where he was the featured singer in the swinging hit “BIG BAND BEAT” A show that he helped create 25 years ago, but it was called “Swing And Sing”. Paul has worked throughout Japan and smiles each time he recalls one of his most memorable times at Miyazaki’s OCEAN DOME, a water theme park. Paul is knows as a quadruple threat (Choreographer, Director, Singer, Dancer), all of which have made for one incredibly talented professional with a vibrant career and personality to match. Currently Paul is a working choreographer at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, where he maintains the main stage show of “Aladdin” A Musical Spectacular” Paul has studied with Alvin Ailey, DTH, (Dance Theater of Harlem) Palm Beach Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Joe Tremaine, Jackie Sleight, Fred Walton just to mention a few. Paul loves what he does and it shows in his attitude, professionalism and joy of performing.
Noelle Somogyi NOELLE SOMOGYI
Teacher / Choreographer

Noelle began her dancing at age 4, training with master teacher, DeLanzer Huggy Ford. She received her ballet training from Laurie Weiner, Lisa Thorngren, and Elizabeth Huebner, and received her tap instruction from Laurie DiFilippo. She has been a part of the HBP Company for 9 years and served as the captain for the last 2 years.

During her years dancing with Company, she has performed at competitions such as LA Dance Magic, LA Dance Force, Tremaine, Showbiz, Showstoppers, Spotlight, Company Dance, Kids Artistic Review, Rainbow Connection, as well as others. Noelle also has done many community shows such as Tustin Chili Cookoff, Tustin Tiller Days, Enderle Center Christmas Show, Tustin Tree Lighting, and the Miss Tusin Pageant.

Also she has had the opportunity to perform at UCI basketball games and at the Staple Center for the LA Clippers. You can also catch Noelle as a dancer in the video “Funkadelic Hip Hop” video. Noelle has recently had the opportunity to be an assistant at the LA Dance Magic Nationals. She has also recently begun her college education at Cal State Fullerton.

Heather Kasparian HEATHER KASPARIAN
Teacher / Choreographer

Heather Kasparian has been dancing for 15 years. She has studied with teachers such as DeLanzer Huggy Ford, Laurie Weiner, Laurie DiFilippo, Leona Morimune, Elizabeth Huebner, and Daria Bearden. As part of the HBP Dance Extreme Company, Heather has competed in many National Dance Competitions, such as, LA Dance Magic, Showstoppers, Showbiz, and Spotlight. She has also performed in community shows including Tustin Tiller Days, Clipper’s Game, Miss Tustin Pageant, Enderle Center and the Tustin Chili Cookoff. Heather was also a dancer in the 2005 Musical Production of The Christmas Post, at Calvary Church of Santa Ana.

Heather is currently attending college, majoring in Business Management, while working at HBP Dance Extreme as Desk Management and teaching Pre-Ballet.

Michele Scott MICHELE SCOTT
Teacher / Choreographer

Michele Scott began her ballet training at the young age of 5 years old. Born and raised in Orange County, she danced with Larry and Sarma Rosenberg of the Anaheim Ballet. She studied on full scholarship with the Pacific Northwest Ballet and received scholarship offers to train with Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Chicago Ballet and San Francisco Ballet.

She won first place in the Marguerite Amilita Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Dance Competition and received one of the first scholarships through this foundation. She worked as a Head Instructor with Universal Dance Association teaching summer dance camps throughout the Western United States. Michele is excited to share her classical dance training with the HBP Dance Extreme family.

Susanna Weller SUSANNA WELLER
Student Teacher / Choreographer

Susanna Weller has been dancing for ten years. She has trained under the direction of DeLanzer Huggy Ford, Laurie Weiner, Laurie DiFilippo, Leona Morimune, Elizabeth Huebner, and Barbara Schramm. Susanna has been part of the top award winning HBP Company, competing at Kids Artistic Revue, Showstopper, Showbiz, Rainbow Connection and LA Dance Magic.

She has also performed in many community events including: Tustin Tiller Days, Enderle Center Christmas Show, Tustin Tree Lighting, Miss Tustin Pageant, Tustin Chili Cookoff, and Irvine Spectrum. Susanna now attends Foothill High School and is excited to take on the new challenge of teaching.
